Initiatives can take form in either events, tours, or rallies. Common Energy UBC’s 3 teams embark on a variety of initiatives (new and old) to raise awareness about sustainability related issues on campus each year.

Previous initiatives include the mugshare campaign, which has been around since 2012 and has long left a legacy of trying to abolish plastic water bottles on campus.  For the last couples years, the Food Choice & Climate Change team has hosted a Sustainable Food Tour to encourage environmentally conscious food choices while exploring restaurants of Vancouver and meeting new people. While Common Energy has a few annual events that we love to host and engage the broader UBC community in, such as the Waste Audit and Winterfest, we also like to start up new events and initiatives every season thanks to the ideas of our passionate members!

Got an idea or initiative that you’d like to see happen next? You can email commonenergyubc@gmail.com to join a team and make your initiative come true. Or, just email us with your idea!
