The Food and Connections Team works to make the connection between students and all of the incredible resources available to eat in a sustainable way at UBC. The team accomplishes this through:
- Creation and Distribution of Resources: promoting other on-campus initiatives related to sustainable food through fun campaigns and field trips to various locations around campus, such as the UBC Farm.
- Education: For example, the annual Chew on This event which is a week of events based on sustainable food which brings together academics, farmers, and business leaders to talk about sustainable food.
The Food Team works closely with other food initiatives on campus and completely recognizes that a lot of projects are already on the go! This team wants to support what is already going on and help to connect students with such resources by making sure that they know why making sustainable food choices is important!
