Campaigns

The Campaigns Team is a new team within Common Energy this year. The team uses campaigning and very tangible solutions to make real change on the UBC Campus

Tap That- Bottled Water-Free Campaign

The Tap That Campaign was started to combat the purchasing of bottled water on campus using education, social media and a petition. The goal was to get the university on board with funding water alternatives and setting a date for the eventual ban on the selling of bottled water on campus.

The university did set a date to begin talks over the next steps, and the Campaigns team will continue to push the movement forward.

The Tap That campaign is run by Common Energy UBC in partnership with the Student Environment Centre, CUS (Commerce Undergraduate Society) Sustainability, Chemical and Biological Engineering, and Sustainability in Residence.

Rapid Transit Campaign

The Campaigns team is also planning to team up with the AMS to help promote the rapid transit campaign focused on improved public transit to and from campus.
