The Food and Connections Team works to make the connection between students and all of the incredible resources available to eat in a sustainable way at UBC. The team accomplishes this through the creation and distribution of resources promoting other on-campus initiatives related to sustainable food as well as through educational events and projects.

INITIATIVES:

CHEW ON THIS

Chew on This is an annual week-long series of events based on sustainable food, bringing together academics, farmers, and business leaders. These events have included documentary screenings, fascinating speakers, and workshops on topics such as insect farming and herb planting speakers.

SUSTAINABLE FOOD TOUR

The first UBC Sustainable Food Tour allowed students to visit various sustainable food outlets on campus and taste their delicious samples too!

PUMPKIN PALOOZA

A new event for the fall of 2014, Pumpkin Palooza was a workshop where students carved their own pumpkins and saved the gooey insides from turning into food waste by making pumpkin pies and soup.
